My mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of populations face the greatest challenges through research and practice partnerships and collaborations.

What is Dissemination & Implementation Science?

Implementation Science is the study of how to take an evidence-based intervention or program to practice. We do this through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods and engagement of practitioners at multiple stages of implementation.
Dissemination Science is the study of how best to disseminate evidence for maximal impact.
Together Dissemination and Implementation Science (D&I) are integral to bringing science to practice and enhancing the public health impact of interventions and policies.

About Dr. McLoughlin

Research Training

Primary Research Expertise

Dr. Gabriella M. McLoughlin is an implementation scientist who works in the policy and community space. Dr. McLoughlin received in-depth training in implementation science in chronic disease prevention as a research associate at Washington University in St. Louis, the top university for implementation science research, and through training fellowships at the National Institutes of Health. Current applications of implementation science reflect a variety of topics pertaining to health inequities in cancer prevention, reducing food insecurity in underserved communities, health policy implementation, and community-driven and school-based approaches to obesity prevention. This work stems from her time as a public school teacher, giving her a unique pragmatic lens to answer complex research questions.
